The short version
We collect as little as we can. You can play without an account, and we never sell your data.
What we keep
If you play signed out: your games and streak are kept under a random ID, not your name.
If you sign in: your email, display name, avatar, games, streak and friends — so they follow you across devices.
Signing in with Apple or Google shares your email and name with us; we use them only to run your account and never share them.
If you turn on reminders, we keep your phone’s notification token, time zone, reminder times and when you last opened the app, so we can send them through Expo, Apple and Google; turning both off deletes them.
What we don’t
No contacts, microphone or camera, and we never ask for your location. We never import your address book.
Analytics
One analytics tool counts things like games started and finished. It never gets your email or name.
Ads
If ads are on, our ad partner may use a device ID — where your phone or region asks, only if you allow it. Change it anytime in You › Help and info › Ad privacy choices. Supporters see no ads and send nothing to ad partners.
If ads are on, Google shows them (AdMob in the app, AdSense on the web). Google and its partners may collect your device’s advertising ID, approximate location from your IP address, the ads you see and tap, and crash and performance data, to show and measure ads and prevent fraud. On the web, Google and other vendors use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites; you can opt out of personalized ads at adssettings.google.com or www.aboutads.info.
Cookies
On the web, one essential cookie keeps your games on this browser. Where the law requires, anything else asks first.
Payments
Popcorn Fund payments go through the App Store, Google Play or our web checkout. We never see your card.
Deleting your account
You › Profile › Delete account (or spoiler.day/delete-account on the web) removes your name, email, friends, stats and streak. Past results stay only inside overall puzzle totals, with nothing pointing to you.
